RJD MP Criticizes BJP Following Attack on TMC Leader Abhishek Banerjee

New Delhi, May 31: RJD MP Manoj Jha has targeted the BJP in response to the attack on TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee. He stated that the cycle of power is not permanent, emphasizing that change is its inherent nature. Jha warned that if such images persist, the nation will struggle to breathe.

Reacting to the incident involving Banerjee, Jha expressed, “I believe this is extremely unfortunate, and such events disgrace our democracy. Throughout the election period, I have repeatedly stated that the elections in Bengal are heading towards an unprecedented level of violence.”

He pointed out that linguistic violence breeds real violence, creating acceptance and justification for it. “Some friends argue that similar incidents occurred during the TMC’s tenure. But does that make it right? If it happened then, it was wrong, and what is happening now is also wrong,” he asserted.

Jha further stated that there is no place for linguistic or real violence in our democracy. Both the ruling and opposition parties must come together, as the cycle of power is transient. He reiterated that if such images continue, the country will not be able to thrive.

During the discussion, Jha also raised concerns regarding NEET and CBSE examination issues, responding to PM Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program. He remarked, “Words alone will not achieve anything. The Prime Minister gives speeches, but that is not enough. Concrete action is needed. You have failed to deliver tangible results. You wrote a book titled ‘Exam Warrior’ and turned the entire examination system into a battlefield.”

The RJD MP criticized the use of the term ‘warrior,’ which he believes incites a confrontational mindset. He stated, “The real issue lies within your systems and structures, where you have placed your own people, who lack understanding and sensitivity towards education, learning, and academic matters.”

Jha concluded that one-sided dialogue in ‘Mann Ki Baat’ will not suffice. The Prime Minister should engage with the millions of children affected, as their pain is not just theirs but that of entire families.
