New Delhi, June 1: Residents of the National Capital Region (NCR) can expect some relief from the intense heat. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), light rain accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds is likely on June 1 and 2.
A yellow alert has been issued for these two days. This weather change is expected to prevent maximum temperatures from rising significantly, with no forecast of temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius throughout the week. The IMD predicts a maximum temperature of 36 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 25 degrees Celsius for June 1.
Light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, and winds reaching speeds of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour are anticipated in the afternoon and evening. Similar weather conditions are expected on June 2, with a maximum temperature of 37 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 27 degrees Celsius. A warning for light rain, lightning, and strong winds has also been issued for this day.
On June 3, the maximum temperature is expected to reach 38 degrees Celsius, with a minimum of 28 degrees Celsius. Rain with thunderstorms is still a possibility, although no specific warnings have been issued. June 4 is expected to have similar weather, with maximum and minimum temperatures remaining at 38 and 28 degrees Celsius, respectively, along with a chance of rain and thunderstorms.
Following this, June 5 and 6 are likely to be relatively clear, with maximum temperatures around 38 degrees Celsius and minimum temperatures of 27 and 28 degrees Celsius, respectively. The sky will be partially cloudy, and no weather warnings are anticipated.
Weather experts indicate that the impact of western disturbances and local weather systems will help reduce the heat in NCR over the next few days. Continuous cloud cover, light rain, and strong winds will provide relief from heat and humidity. Overall, pleasant weather is expected to continue until June 6, offering respite to residents of the capital and surrounding areas from the sweltering heat.
