Singer Aditya Ram Shankar Faces Legal Action in Mumbai for Alleged Rape

Mumbai, June 25: The Juhu police in Mumbai have filed a case against singer and music composer Aditya Ram Shankar. He is accused of raping a woman under the pretense of marriage. An officer from the Juhu police station stated that Shankar will soon be summoned for questioning via a notice.

According to the complaint filed at the Juhu police station, the woman met Aditya Ram Shankar a year ago through a mutual friend. It is alleged that he took her to a hotel in Juhu, Mumbai, and sexually exploited her while promising marriage. The accusations suggest that Shankar repeatedly misled the woman about marriage and engaged in sexual relations with her. When she pressed him about marriage, he began to evade the topic.

On May 25, the victim confronted Shankar again, inquiring about their marriage plans. He reportedly responded by saying that they could not marry because she was not of his caste. This revelation made the woman realize that Shankar had deceived her by making false promises of marriage while exploiting her physically. She has demanded swift action against Aditya Ram Shankar.

Previously, on May 26, Chandigarh police registered a case against Saini S. Johare, the production designer of the film “Dhurandhar.” A woman alleged that Johare had called her to a five-star hotel in Chandigarh under the pretext of work, where he drugged her drink and sexually assaulted her, holding her captive overnight. Following these allegations, the internal committee of the film’s production house (B 62 Studios) found Johare guilty of sexual harassment before his arrest, leading to his name being removed from the film and its sequel credits.
