Record Number of Pilgrims Participate in Char Dham Yatra in Uttarakhand

Dehradun, September 28 (Daily Kiran) : The Char Dham Yatra in Uttarakhand is witnessing an unprecedented number of pilgrims this season. As of now, the state government reports that 5,323,401 devotees have visited the Char Dham shrines, a significant increase from approximately 4.6 million during the same period last year.

The numbers for the Badrinath and Gangotri shrines have broken previous records. To date, 1.81 million pilgrims have visited Badrinath, while Gangotri has welcomed a remarkable 841,000 visitors for the first time.

Yamunotri has also seen over 750,000 pilgrims, and Kedarnath has attracted 1.56 million visitors. With about a month and a half remaining in the pilgrimage season, officials expect the total number of pilgrims to rise even further compared to previous years.

There is also notable enthusiasm for the pilgrimage to Sri Hemkund Sahib, which has recorded 352,765 visitors, marking a high turnout compared to past years.

Under the guidance of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the Char Dham Yatra is being conducted with vigilance and continuous monitoring. The government has implemented necessary measures to prioritize the safety of pilgrims.

In the districts associated with the Char Dham Yatra—Rudraprayag, Chamoli, and Uttarkashi—the disaster management department remains on alert 24/7. Continuous oversight is in place to ensure a safe and smooth journey for all.

The first phase of the pilgrimage has been successful, and the second phase is also seeing a large influx of devotees. In light of this, essential arrangements have been made along the pilgrimage routes and in the relevant districts.

Senior officials at both state and district levels are regularly reviewing the arrangements for the Char Dham Yatra. Instructions have been issued to keep disaster management systems prepared for any emergencies.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami emphasized that the safety of pilgrims is the government’s top priority, and all necessary arrangements have been made to ensure a secure, convenient, and organized pilgrimage experience.
