Kathmandu, September 28 (Daily Kiran) : A group of 50 officials from Nepal is embarking on a five-day training program in India aimed at enhancing their knowledge and skills in sustainable agricultural practices. The initiative, organized by the Indian Embassy, will take place from September 29 to October 3 at Gurukul in Kurukshetra. This training is fully sponsored by the Government of India and marks the third batch of Nepalese officials participating in this program.
Participants will gain hands-on experience in natural farming techniques and will have opportunities to exchange experiences and learn best practices in sustainable agriculture. This initiative is part of India’s capacity-building efforts for Nepalese officials and highlights the collaboration between the two countries in the agricultural sector.
The first batch of Nepalese officials attended the training in September 2023, followed by the second batch, which completed their training in August 2025. The program aims to promote knowledge sharing about environmentally sustainable farming methods and contribute to human resource development in Nepal’s agricultural sector.
The Indian Embassy emphasized that this initiative underscores India’s ongoing support for capacity building in Nepal as part of a close and multifaceted partnership between the neighboring countries.
In addition, the embassy recently announced a new scholarship scheme for Nepalese citizens interested in studying law at prestigious Indian institutions. According to a statement, 25 Nepalese students will receive scholarships each year to pursue BA LLB, LLB, or LLM courses at any of the top 20 law colleges in India. The financial aid will cover tuition, admission, and hostel fees, with a maximum annual limit of 640,000 Nepalese rupees. Candidates will be selected based on their previous academic performance or qualifying exam scores.
