Kapurthala, September 28 (Daily Kiran) : Senior Congress MLA Sukhpial Singh Khaira has raised serious allegations against the Aam Aadmi Party, claiming that leaders from Delhi have taken over ministerial residences in Chandigarh’s posh Sector 39. He stated that Punjab’s elected ministers are being forced to find alternative accommodations.
Khaira revealed that he has received consistent reports about the presence of Delhi-based individuals occupying these ministerial homes. He specifically mentioned that Dr. Ravjot Singh, a Punjab minister, has been unable to access his residence due to a long-standing occupation by Manish Sisodia.
In a striking revelation, Khaira noted that a woman, Gayatri Bishnoi, was allegedly brought from Rajasthan and has been placed in the minister’s residence. He described how she had openly admitted to living in a ministerial home, showing him a nameplate that indicated she resides at a property meant for Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh.
Khaira questioned her presence in a ministerial residence, to which she replied that her father was unwell and had undergone heart surgery. However, he pointed out the inconsistency in her claims, noting that her father, a retired sepoy, could receive cashless treatment in any hospital. He expressed disbelief that she was living in a minister’s house while enjoying a lavish lifestyle, including eating out and celebrating with cakes.
The MLA stated that after these allegations became public, many social media influencers and YouTubers supported him, leading to further scrutiny. He claimed to have received a list indicating that around ten ministerial residences are occupied by individuals affiliated with the Aam Aadmi Party from Delhi.
Khaira emphasized the gravity of the situation, suggesting that the security of Punjab is being compromised. He expressed concern that the local electorate, who voted for Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, now feels that governance is being controlled by outsiders from Delhi, including Arvind Kejriwal and other defeated politicians.
He also accused Vaibhav Kumar, who has a troubled past, of controlling the Chief Minister’s office. Khaira criticized the current leadership, noting that the Director General of Police (DGP) has been on ad-hoc status for four years and is not a native Punjabi. He further pointed out that the Chief Secretary and various board appointments are similarly filled by non-Punjabis, raising questions about local representation and governance.
Khaira’s statements have ignited a political firestorm in Punjab, highlighting concerns over local leadership and the influence of Delhi-based politicians on state affairs.
