Mumbai, June 4: A significant development has emerged in the controversy involving Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh and the film ‘Don 3.’ The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has decided to withdraw its non-cooperation directive against Singh.
This announcement was made by Ashok Pandit, chief advisor of FWICE and a film producer, during a press conference.
Pandit explained that this decision followed discussions with major organizations such as the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association (IMPAA), the Cine and TV Artists Association (CINTAA), and the Producers Guild of India. He emphasized that this issue affects the entire film industry, not just one individual, and must be resolved through dialogue.
He noted that after FWICE issued the non-cooperation directive, they reached out to producer organizations for involvement in the matter. Following this, a detailed discussion took place with IMPAA president Abhay Sinha. IMPAA assured FWICE that if the non-cooperation decision was retracted, they would play an active role in resolving the issue. A written letter was also sent, promising to find a solution.
Later, the Producers Guild adopted a similar stance, supporting FWICE’s concerns. Pandit stated that with all major organizations coming together, a resolution to this dispute is likely.
He also mentioned that abandoning a project at the last minute should not become a norm in the film industry, as it harms producers, technicians, and other staff. Therefore, maintaining trust and transparency is essential.
FWICE has urged Ranveer Singh to come forward for discussions. Pandit remarked that artists like Singh attract audiences to theaters and play a crucial role in the industry’s success. The organization hopes all parties can work together to resolve this dispute, allowing the film industry to function smoothly once again.
Meanwhile, CINTAA representative and actress Upasana Singh stated that it is their organization’s responsibility to protect the interests of artists. The film industry is like a family, where differences may arise, but they can be resolved through conversation. She expressed hope that this initiative would not harm any party involved.
Upasana Singh praised Ranveer Singh for delivering several successful films to the industry. She highlighted that filmmaking involves not just actors, directors, or producers, but also the hard work of spot boys, lightmen, cameramen, and hundreds of families. Therefore, it is crucial to consider the interests of all parties when resolving this dispute.
