Mumbai, August 3: Raju Waghmare, spokesperson for Shiv Sena, has targeted both Raj Thackeray and the Uddhav Thackeray faction. He dismissed Thackeray’s letter-based accusations as unfounded and took a jab at Uddhav Thackeray’s recent meeting. Waghmare also commented on statements regarding Veer Savarkar and the government’s actions in a recent theft case.
Waghmare stated, “It seems Raj Thackeray has nothing to do at the moment. Before making such allegations, he should think carefully. The letter he read and referred to was given to him by someone. We don’t even know if that letter actually reached us. It’s very easy to pick up a piece of paper and claim that someone wrote to Shinde, and then make accusations based on that. Our Siddhivinayak Temple trustee, Sada Sarvankar, has already clarified that there is no such issue. Raj Thackeray often makes statements based on incomplete information.”
Waghmare also launched an attack on the opposition, saying, “The opposition has no issues left to discuss. These are the only topics they have. Recently, the accused in the theft case have been arrested, an SIT has been formed, and the investigation is ongoing. Anyone found involved will be caught and severely punished. The government has already made this clear.”
Commenting on Uddhav Thackeray’s recent meeting, Waghmare remarked, “Uddhav Thackeray held a meeting, but now there are no workers left to attend. That’s why he is trying to attract ‘Gen Z’ to his party. In the meeting, he mentioned that ‘Gen Z’ should be encouraged to join the party. After the ‘Gen Z’ movement, he suddenly realized that people can unite. But he forgets that the ‘Gen Z’ movement was for their own reasons, not his.”
Regarding the controversy surrounding Veer Savarkar, Waghmare said, “First of all, if anyone makes disrespectful statements about the esteemed Veer Savarkar, it is the Congress Party and Rahul Gandhi. Secondly, what Prime Minister Narendra Modi said about this was very accurate. Sometimes people make mistakes, but such mistakes should not happen. It is wrong to make derogatory comments about someone’s mother or an elder. This goes against our culture.”
