
New Delhi, June 20: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Odisha on Saturday. He will participate in a significant event in Mayurbhanj district’s Rairangpur. This event marks the second anniversary of the BJP government in the state. President Droupadi Murmu is also expected to attend.
Around 11:15 AM, PM Modi and President Murmu will visit the President’s residence in Pahadpur village, Mayurbhanj. They will offer prayers at the sacred Uban Santhali Jahera and Ho Jahera, as well as at the skill center and Pahadpur school.
This visit aims to strengthen ongoing efforts to enhance educational opportunities, skill development, and socio-economic empowerment in tribal and rural areas.
At approximately 1 PM, both leaders will participate in a program in Rairangpur, celebrating the Odisha government’s two-year milestone. The theme of the event is “Vikas Ra Dhara, Odisha Sara.”
According to official sources, the program will inaugurate and lay the foundation for various developmental projects worth over ₹47,600 crores in key sectors, including energy, industrial infrastructure, road connectivity, drinking water, health, education, tourism, and irrigation.
During this occasion, the Prime Minister will also address a large public gathering in Rairangpur. The projects are expected to enhance infrastructure across Odisha, improve connectivity, boost energy security, and create job opportunities.
Key projects to be inaugurated include the 600 MW Upper Indravati Pumped Storage Project and the Stage-II expansion of the IB Thermal Power Station, which consists of two units of 660 MW each.
Other projects include a 300 TPD source-separated municipal solid waste-based compressed biogas plant, a bridge over the Katakjodi River providing a direct link between Cuttack and Bhubaneswar, the widening and strengthening of the Dhalpur-Harbhanga road in Boudh district, and the four-laning of a section of NH-353 from Nuapada to Ghatipada. Additionally, the Kusumdihi Mega Lift Irrigation Project, an IGNOU regional center, and an indoor badminton complex in Rairangpur will also be inaugurated.
Furthermore, 24 Atal bus stands and nine automated testing stations across various districts in Odisha will be inaugurated, along with a 300-bed district headquarters hospital building in Boudh. These projects are expected to strengthen healthcare and public transport infrastructure in the state.
