Rajasthan Ensures LPG Cylinder Availability for Weddings: Minister Sumit Godara

Jaipur, April 7: A high-level meeting was held on Tuesday to discuss the supply system of domestic and commercial LPG cylinders, along with the expansion of piped natural gas (PNG) connections in Rajasthan. The meeting, chaired by Food and Civil Supplies Minister Sumit Godara, took place at the secretariat to review the current situation.

Senior officials from the department and representatives from oil and gas marketing companies participated in the discussions. The focus was on the current status of LPG supply across the state, the distribution mechanism, and the expansion of PNG services.

Officials reported that the supply of domestic LPG cylinders in Rajasthan is running smoothly, with a consistent increase in supply to meet the demand in the non-domestic sector as well. The average delivery time for LPG cylinders remains approximately 4.5 days.

To provide relief to the public, the Godara administration has instructed officials to ensure the availability of commercial LPG cylinders for wedding ceremonies in both rural and urban areas.

According to the directives, two 19 kg commercial LPG cylinders will be made available for wedding ceremonies in rural areas, while three 19 kg commercial LPG cylinders will be provided for urban ceremonies.

Applicants wishing to avail of this facility must submit an application to the respective District Supply Officer (DSO) along with a copy of the wedding invitation card. Upon receipt of the application, the DSO will coordinate with the local gas agency to ensure timely supply.

The minister emphasized the need to accelerate the expansion of PNG connections. He directed officials and gas companies to expedite pipeline laying, increase new connections, and raise awareness about the benefits of PNG among the public and industry.

During the meeting, Principal Secretary of the Food and Civil Supplies Department, Ambrish Kumar, stated that continuous efforts are being made to expand the PNG infrastructure across the state.
