Jaipur, July 19: Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma inspected the Rajasthan Cyber Crime Control Center (R4C) and the 1930 Cyber Helpline at the police headquarters on Saturday. During the review of the state’s cyber crime response mechanism, he directed officials to intensify efforts to curb online fraud.
Chairing a high-level review meeting with senior police officials, the Chief Minister instructed them to launch a comprehensive public awareness campaign about cyber crime through social media, digital platforms, and other communication channels.
He also emphasized the need for special cyber awareness programs in schools and colleges to educate students about online fraud. Stressing the urgency of action, Sharma directed officials to strengthen coordination with banks to ensure that fraudulent accounts are frozen immediately and to utilize modern technology and data analytics for quicker detection and prevention of cyber crimes.
The Chief Minister instructed the police to take stringent action not only against cyber fraudsters but also against their illegally acquired assets. He warned that strict legal action would be taken against those who allow their bank accounts to be used for cyber crimes.
Sharma stated that the state government is committed to establishing a robust cyber security system and directed officials to provide a dedicated building to strengthen the operations of the Rajasthan Cyber Crime Control Center (R4C).
Police officials informed the Chief Minister that nearly 95 percent of complaints received on the 1930 Cyber Helpline are now being registered and acted upon promptly. The helpline, which previously operated with 30 call lines, has now been expanded to 53 and operates in three shifts. Officials mentioned that capacity would soon be increased to 60 lines, ensuring that every cyber crime complaint receives immediate attention.
As of June 2026, there has been a significant improvement in both the call-handling capacity and response rate of the helpline under the TCS and NRCP systems. The police also reported that 412 e-Zero FIRs have been registered in cases of cyber fraud involving amounts exceeding ₹5 lakh.
Additionally, the Ministry of Home Affairs has selected 54 personnel from the Rajasthan police for specialized training in digital security and cyber investigations during 2026.
Officials briefed the Chief Minister on the success of state-wide cyber crime enforcement operations, including Operation Vajra Prahar, Operation Cyber Shield, Operation Anti-Virus, and Operation Mule Hunter. These operations have led to the arrest of cyber criminals, recovery and return of funds defrauded from victims, and large-scale blocking of suspicious SIM cards and mobile IMEI numbers.
Following the Chief Minister’s directives, a special state-level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC) meeting will be held on July 21, chaired by the Chief Secretary, to strengthen coordination between banks and cyber police for swift action against cyber fraud.
