
Varanasi, July 18: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta participated in the renowned Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat during her two-day visit to Varanasi on Saturday. Accompanied by her family, she immersed herself in the spiritual atmosphere of the event.
During the Aarti, the Chief Minister was visibly filled with devotion and reverence. She performed rituals dedicated to Mother Ganga, lit lamps, and raised her hands multiple times in praise, chanting “Har Har Gange” and expressing her faith.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta traveled to Dashashwamedh Ghat by cruise from Namo Ghat. While sailing through the Ganges, she closely observed the cleanliness, beauty, and grandeur of the ghats. Throughout the journey, she showed a keen interest in learning about the history, ancient traditions, and religious significance of the ghats. She expressed joy at witnessing the preservation of Varanasi’s cultural heritage.
Upon reaching Dashashwamedh Ghat, the Chief Minister first performed rituals for Mother Ganga with her family, lighting lamps and wishing for the prosperity of the state and the nation. She then attentively observed the world-famous Ganga Aarti with deep devotion.
After the Aarti, Sushant Mishra from the Ganga Seva Nidhi honored Chief Minister Rekha Gupta with a shawl and a commemorative memento.
Following the Aarti, the Chief Minister enjoyed a boat ride on the Ganges. She was accompanied by Ayush Jaiswal, Namrata Chaurasia, Ayushi Shrimali, Navratan Rathi, Santosh Solapurkar, and Pooja Pandey, among others. Extensive security arrangements were made at the ghats for her arrival, and a large number of devotees and tourists witnessed this spiritual moment, greeting her warmly.
