Tarun Chugh Criticizes Kejriwal Over 1984 Riots Allegations

New Delhi, September 1: BJP MP Tarun Chugh has launched a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Congress, targeting Arvind Kejriwal and Rahul Gandhi over issues related to Sajjan Kumar, GDP growth, and the SC/ST community.

In Amritsar, AAP leaders and supporters protested outside Chugh’s residence. Speaking to the media, Chugh remarked, “Kejriwal is the same person who shared a platform with Congress leaders responsible for the 1984 Sikh massacre and formed a government with them in 2013. Now, he questions us.”

Displaying a photograph, he said, “Kejriwal! These images clearly show who was behind the 1984 Sikh genocide. Did you not contest the 2024 Lok Sabha elections alongside these leaders? Did you not form a government with the Congress party, the same party that burned Sikhs alive and turned 52 cities into crematoriums during the 1984 anti-Sikh riots? They inflicted wounds while we tried to heal. They burned people alive while we saved them. You allied with those who committed these atrocities. Why did you not open those files when you became Chief Minister after the 1984 massacre?”

Chugh further stated, “When Narendra Modi became Prime Minister in 2014, an SIT was established to investigate the Sikh riots. Since then, those responsible for the violence against Sikhs have begun to face justice.”

Commenting on India’s 7.8% GDP growth, Chugh noted, “India is undoubtedly progressing rapidly. Our economy is the fastest-growing in the world. The 7.8% growth rate reflects our accelerating pace. We have surpassed last year’s 6.9% growth rate and made significant strides. I thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his hard work, which is clearly visible and felt worldwide.”

He also highlighted actions taken by the National Scheduled Commission against Amarinder Singh Raja Wadding, stating that it has revealed the anti-Dalit face of Rahul Gandhi and Congress. Chugh pointed out derogatory, casteist, and racist comments made about former Home Minister Buta Singh during the Tarn Taran elections, emphasizing the extent of caste discrimination within Congress. Former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi has also accused the party of discrimination against SC workers.
