Jaipur, March 31: Affected by an active western disturbance, several regions in Rajasthan experienced rain, hailstorms, and dust storms on Monday. Heavy rainfall accompanied by hail was reported in Kota during the afternoon.
Rainfall was also recorded in Ajmer, Sri Ganganagar, Bikaner, Hanumangarh, Churu, and Nagaur districts. Dust storms swept through Jaisalmer, while clouds lingered over Jaipur and Jodhpur, among other areas.
The weather department has issued an orange alert for four districts, including Bundi, Kota, Alwar, and Bharatpur. A yellow alert has been declared for 12 districts, including Jaipur, Dausa, Hanumangarh, Jhalawar, and Bhilwara, warning of thunderstorms, heavy rainfall, and strong winds. Dust storms are also expected in some regions.
Officials from the weather department noted that the impact of the western disturbance has led to the development of a cyclonic circulation system over western Rajasthan and surrounding areas.
As a result, thunderstorms with gusty winds (40-50 km/h) and light to moderate rainfall are likely in parts of Jodhpur, Bikaner, Ajmer, Jaipur, Bharatpur, Udaipur, and Kota divisions.
On Tuesday, isolated light to moderate rainfall is expected in parts of the Shekhawati region, as well as in the Jaipur, Bharatpur, and Kota divisions.
From April 1-2, mostly dry weather is anticipated, although isolated drizzles or thunderstorms may occur. A new western disturbance could become active between April 3-5, potentially triggering another round of rain and storms across the state.
Farmers have been advised to take necessary precautions to protect their crops and produce.
Current weather activities may provide temporary relief from rising temperatures, but they could also cause disruptions in some areas. Authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant and follow official guidelines during this period.
