Raids on Spa Centers in Rampur: Authorities Crack Down on Violations

Rampur, April 4: In response to complaints about alleged immoral activities and violations of licensing regulations, a joint team of local administration and police conducted raids on several spa centers in the Civil Lines area of Rampur district, Uttar Pradesh.

Under the direction of Superintendent of Police Somendra Meena, the operation involved coordinated efforts from both police and municipal authorities.

The inspection team included the city magistrate, officials from the municipal council, fire services, the Mission Shakti team, and police from the Civil Lines station, led by Station Officer Omkar Singh. According to officials, the aim of the operation was to verify compliance with regulations and investigate complaints regarding suspicious activities disguised as spa and massage services.

During the raids, multiple spa centers were inspected, staff were questioned, and documents were reviewed. The investigation revealed that several spa centers were operating without the necessary permits, including No Objection Certificates (NOCs) from the municipal and fire departments, as well as other essential licenses. In light of these violations, immediate orders were issued to close several spa centers, and further legal action is underway against them.

The identified spa centers included the Roz Therapy Spa Center in the Sugar Society, Gold Classic Spa and Salon in Housing Development, Golden Hands Spa Center on Shaukat Ali Road, Mango Spa Center on Shaukat Ali Road, and Priyanka Leaf Spa Parlor Center on LIC Road.

Officials reported that no objectionable materials or individuals involved in illegal activities were found during the raids. However, all spa centers will remain under surveillance, and investigations will continue to ensure compliance with regulations.

There are some local concerns regarding the operation, with discussions suggesting that information about the raids may have leaked beforehand, resulting in no disturbances at the sites. Nevertheless, officials have not confirmed such claims, stating that the action was based solely on credible complaints and regulations.

The police have warned spa operators to adhere to all legal requirements and indicated that strict monitoring will continue in the coming days. The administration has also suggested that further inspections may be conducted as necessary to maintain order in the area.
