Raebareli, September 8 (Daily Kiran) : Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, is set to arrive in Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh, for a two-day visit starting Tuesday. Local authorities have implemented stringent security measures in anticipation of his arrival.
During his visit, Gandhi will preside over a meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (Disha). He is expected to review ongoing development projects and assess the situation in flood-affected areas.
Officials have indicated that the Disha meeting will provide detailed updates on the progress of various government development schemes, pending issues, and other significant matters. Reports on actions taken since the last meeting, which was chaired by Amethi MP Kishori Lal Sharma, are also being prepared.
In addition to reviewing development-related issues, Gandhi is anticipated to visit flood-hit regions in Shivgarh and Maharajganj. He may engage with local residents to listen to their concerns and evaluate the damage caused by recent floods.
Administrative officials are gathering information from various departments to present the status of development plans and outstanding issues during the meeting.
Gandhi’s visit comes at a critical time, with state assembly elections approaching. His interactions with the public are expected to provide him with direct feedback on the challenges they face.
Previously, Gandhi visited Uttar Pradesh on May 19 and 20, during which he inaugurated a marriage hall funded by his MP funds in Bachhrawan, Raebareli.
