New Delhi, July 21: In a recent session of the Lok Sabha, opposition leader Rahul Gandhi raised concerns regarding the government’s handling of student protests and the examination system. He criticized the current education and testing framework, stating it has been fundamentally undermined.
Gandhi remarked, “We approached the Speaker to discuss student issues, but were informed that we must first consult the government.”
He highlighted that following a protest in New Delhi on Monday, Prime Minister Modi has yet to issue an apology for the treatment of students.
“PM Modi has not even apologized for what occurred on Monday. The youth are protesting against the education and examination system. The entire nation knows that this system has been hollowed out like termites. Why is the Prime Minister silent? He should apologize to the students and put an end to this,” Gandhi asserted.
He also took to the social media platform ‘X’ to express his views. Gandhi shared that he met with opposition MPs and requested a detailed discussion with the Lok Sabha Speaker to hold the government accountable for the brutality faced by students and the paper leak scandal.
In his post, he noted that students raised legitimate questions about their futures, yet instead of receiving answers, they were met with violence. Gandhi questioned, “If Parliament cannot discuss the future of India’s youth, then what is its purpose?”
He emphasized that the opposition will not let this issue be suppressed. The voices of students will be raised not only on the streets but also firmly within Parliament.
