New Delhi, June 25: Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha has launched a strong attack on Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann regarding a controversial video that allegedly shows him disrespecting a religious figure.
In a press interaction on Thursday, Chadha accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Mann of fabricating a false forensic report to conceal their actions. He stated that under these circumstances, Mann has no moral right to continue as Chief Minister and should resign immediately. Furthermore, he demanded that a first information report (FIR) be filed against Mann under the new anti-blasphemy law.
Chadha emphasized that doubts surrounding the authenticity of the video have been dispelled, as Mann and AAP resorted to creating a fake forensic report to hide the truth. He noted that if the video were not genuine, there would have been no need for such a report. He expressed concern over the derogatory comments made against the Sikh community on social media, stating that the entire Sikh community is now outraged.
He posed critical questions to AAP’s Sikh leaders, asking whether they are truly dedicated to Guru Sahib, aligned with the Sikh community, and respectful of the Sri Akal Takht Sahib, or if they support Mann, whom he labeled as anti-Sikh. He urged them to make their stance clear.
Chadha also called for an investigation into how the fake video was produced, including the individuals involved and whether public or private funds were used in its creation. He raised concerns about potential money laundering or bribery linked to this incident, asserting that these matters warrant thorough scrutiny.
He concluded by stating that the Sikh community is primarily demanding two things: the immediate resignation of Bhagwant Mann from the Chief Minister’s position and the filing of an FIR against him under the new anti-blasphemy law.
