Pune Land Scam: Charges Filed, Parth Pawar Not Named

Pune, February 3: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Pune Police has filed a chargesheet in connection with the alleged illegal sale of approximately 40 acres of government land in the Mundhwa area. The chargesheet spans 1,886 pages.

According to Pune Police, the chargesheet claims that Sheetal Tejwani, the holder of the Power of Attorney (POA) for the land, executed a sale deed with Amadia Enterprises LLP, fully aware that the land belongs to the state government.

The chargesheet also notes that Parth Pawar, a partner in Amadia Enterprises LLP and the son of the late Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, is not named in the First Information Report (FIR). Although he is identified as a partner, no direct involvement has been established during the preliminary investigation. Other partners, including Digvijay Amarsingh Patil and suspended tehsildar Suryakant Yewale, are mentioned in the chargesheet. Police allege that the government land was fraudulently represented as private property for the transaction.

Sources from Pune Police indicate that the investigation is ongoing. If new evidence emerges, a supplementary chargesheet may be filed. The EOW is thoroughly examining the documents, officials, and private entities involved in this land deal.

This case has sparked significant discussion in political and administrative circles. The opposition continues to criticize the government over this issue. Ajit Pawar has previously stated that he had no knowledge of the transaction, asserting that he would have prevented the deal if he had been informed. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has ordered a high-level inquiry into the matter.
