New Delhi, April 7: BJP National President Nitin Nabin convened a crucial virtual meeting with Chief Ministers, state presidents, and senior leaders from party-ruled states. The focus was on the effective implementation and public awareness of the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam’ (Women’s Reservation Law).
During the meeting, strategies were discussed to implement 33% reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies. This provision is expected to be enacted ahead of the 2029 general elections.
A significant emphasis was placed on enhancing outreach to women at the grassroots level. Leaders suggested campaigns that include door-to-door outreach, women-focused seminars, digital platforms, and community meetings to explain the benefits of this law. Under this legislation, women will also receive one-third of the reserved seats for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.
The BJP is preparing to launch a nationwide awareness campaign regarding this law. This initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Nari Shakti.’
According to sources, the upcoming special session of Parliament, scheduled between April 16 and 18, 2026, may consider necessary constitutional amendments to expedite the law’s implementation. This could also involve changes related to census and delimitation.
Earlier on Monday, Nitin Nabin reviewed preparations for Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Jayanti (April 14) during a meeting with senior leaders at the BJP headquarters. Plans were made to strengthen the message of social justice and equality through seminars, rallies, and outreach programs.
These ongoing meetings indicate that the BJP is formulating an active strategy focused on organizational strength, women’s empowerment, and social justice. The party believes that this will enhance women’s political participation and make democracy more representative.
