Jagan Mohan Reddy Accuses Naidu of Evading Political Response on Mavigun Proposal

Amaravati, April 8: Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has accused current Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu of being unable to provide a political response to his “Mavigun” proposal. Instead, Reddy claims Naidu is resorting to propaganda and misinformation.

The YSR Congress Party leader launched a strong attack via social media against the managing director of a Telugu media house, alleging that derogatory language was used against women on a television channel.

Reddy stated that such offensive language and dragging women into political debates are neither criticism nor aligned with democratic norms. He emphasized that it is an insult to women and raises serious questions about journalistic standards.

“We strongly condemn these remarks. This is a calculated attempt to insult women and divert public discourse. The real issue is that Naidu and his affiliated media outlets are resorting to misinformation and slurs due to their inability to politically respond to the ‘Mavigun’ proposal,” he said.

Notably, Jagan Mohan Reddy recently proposed the ‘Mavigun’ corridor (Machilipatnam, Vijayawada, and Guntur) as an alternative to Amaravati as the state capital.

In response to the alleged derogatory comments made on a news channel, YSR Congress Party leaders protested outside the ABN Andhra Jyoti office in Hyderabad on Tuesday, demanding action against the individual involved and an unconditional apology.

Jagan mentioned that his supporters conducted a peaceful protest without resorting to violence, demonstrating their commitment to democratic values.

He accused leaders like Nara Lokesh and Pawan Kalyan of supporting the controversial statement instead of condemning it, reflecting their mindset.

Jagan Mohan Reddy has called for immediate action against the media head, asserting that such statements are not only unacceptable but also send the wrong message to society.
