Pratap Singh Bajwa Calls for Peace Amid Rising Global Tensions

New Delhi, April 7: Senior Punjab Congress leader and former minister Pratap Singh Bajwa has expressed concern over escalating global tensions and war rhetoric, urging for peace.

In a post on the social media platform ‘X’, Bajwa stated, “Amid rising tensions and war talk, the world should pause for a moment and choose understanding over destruction.”

He further emphasized, “Scientific progress should empower civilizations to advance, not to annihilate each other. As Mahatma Gandhi reminded us, an eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind.”

Bajwa expressed hope for improved understanding and peace, believing that humanity can rise above conflict before it is too late.

His statement comes at a time when geopolitical tensions are surging in various parts of the world. Recent conflicts in West Asia, an energy crisis, and increasing rhetoric among nations have raised global concerns.

Citing Gandhi’s principles of non-violence and peace, Bajwa remarked that revenge does not solve problems; instead, it exacerbates the situation. He advocated for using scientific advancements for human welfare rather than for creating weapons of destruction.

He urged leaders from all nations to pursue dialogue and diplomacy to spare humanity from unnecessary wars and devastation.

Bajwa also shared a post from Truth Social by former U.S. President Donald Trump, which hinted at a swift attack on Iran. Trump wrote, “Tonight, a whole civilization will be destroyed, never to be brought back. I do not want that to happen, but perhaps it will. However, now that we have a ‘complete regime change’ with more understanding and less extremist thinking, perhaps something revolutionary and wonderful could happen; who knows? We will find out tonight, as it may be one of the most significant moments in the long and complex history of the world. The cycle of 47 years of forced recovery, corruption, and death will finally end. God bless the great people of Iran!”
