Hyderabad, July 23: K.T. Rama Rao, the executive president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), announced on Thursday that he will send a legal notice to Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. This notice pertains to allegations linking him to a company involved in irregularities in the intermediate examination results.
The former minister urged the chief minister to apologize for these accusations, warning that failure to do so would result in legal action.
Rama Rao clarified that neither he nor his family has any connection with ‘Globarena.’
In a post on the social media platform X, K.T. Rama Rao stated that the chief minister should at least act like one during his tenure.
He condemned the spread of false news regarding unfortunate incidents like paper leaks, labeling it disgraceful and damaging to one’s position. He urged against using such matters for cheap political agendas.
Rama Rao reiterated that BRS, his family, or ‘Globarena’ have no ties. He mentioned that his legal team would soon send a notice demanding either an apology or facing legal consequences. He referred to Revanth Reddy as “Mr. Cheap Minister,” emphasizing that he often refrains from responding to baseless accusations, not because he agrees, but because he dislikes engaging in mudslinging.
The allegations from Chief Minister Revanth Reddy arose during a rally in his constituency, Kodangal, where he addressed protests against the detention of Rahul Gandhi and other Congress leaders in New Delhi during a demonstration related to the NEET question paper leak case.
Revanth Reddy claimed that in 2019, when BRS was in power in Telangana, Globarena was involved in manipulating the intermediate examination results, leading to the deaths of 27 students.
He alleged that Globarena was a proxy company linked to K.T. Rama Rao and accused him of awarding the project to them due to political pressure, despite their lack of necessary experience and qualifications.
The CM further stated that after the Congress party came to power in Telangana, Globarena rebranded itself as ‘Coempt Education’ and reached out to the central government. He claimed that K.T. Rama Rao assisted them in securing contracts through BJP leadership in Delhi.
