New Delhi, February 13: The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) in the national capital will officially relocate to a new address starting Friday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the high-tech office at ‘Seva Teerth’, which features a smart grid. Images of the new office have also been released.

At approximately 1:30 PM, Prime Minister Modi will unveil the name of the ‘Seva Teerth’ building complex. Following this, he will formally inaugurate both the ‘Seva Teerth’ and the Duty Building-1 and Duty Building-2. Later in the evening, around 6 PM, he will address a public gathering at Seva Teerth.

The new PMO will be housed in Seva Teerth, along with the National Security Council Secretariat and the Cabinet Secretariat, which were previously located in separate areas.

Duty Building-1 and Duty Building-2 will accommodate several key ministries, including the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Law and Justice, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, and the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.

For decades, major government offices and ministries have operated from fragmented and outdated infrastructures scattered across the Central Vista area. This dispersion has led to inefficiencies in operations, coordination challenges, rising maintenance costs, and an unsuitable working environment. The new complex, equipped with modern, future-ready facilities, aims to resolve these issues by consolidating administrative functions.

Both building complexes will feature digitally integrated offices, streamlined public contact areas, and centralized reception facilities. These amenities are designed to enhance collaboration, efficiency, smooth operations, citizen engagement, and employee well-being. Built according to 4-star GRIHA standards, the complexes will incorporate renewable energy systems, water conservation measures, waste management solutions, and high-performance building structures.

These initiatives are expected to boost operational efficiency while significantly reducing environmental impact. The complexes will also include comprehensive security measures, such as smart access control systems, surveillance networks, and advanced emergency response infrastructure, ensuring a safe and accessible environment for officials and visitors.
