President Murmu Advocates for Inclusive Development of Tribal Communities

New Delhi, June 3: President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated a national conference on strengthening integrated tribal development institutions and projects in New Delhi on Wednesday. During the event, she also virtually launched the ‘Training Fab’ at the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, and 75 ‘Space Labs’ at Eklavya Model Residential Schools.

In her address, President Murmu emphasized that this conference is a platform for those committed to improving the status of tribal people. She urged all participants to ensure that welfare and development programs reach the tribal communities directly in their villages and homes. By doing so, they can significantly enhance the lives of tribal brothers and sisters. She expressed her happiness that the conference would discuss critical aspects of tribal development.

The President expressed confidence that individuals working in various agencies and projects would make well-considered decisions, ensuring that the benefits of various schemes reach every member of the tribal community.

She advised all stakeholders to focus on the purpose of each project file and document, which is to assist individuals. Everyone involved in these initiatives should ensure that every pregnant mother receives adequate nutrition, every tribal child has access to quality education, every tribal youth can secure dignified livelihoods, and every tribal family benefits from welfare and development programs. All agencies and individuals associated with these projects must work with this sensitive mindset.

President Murmu was pleased to learn that, alongside modern development efforts, there is a special emphasis on preserving the culture and traditional knowledge of tribal communities.

She highlighted the importance of education in the progress of individuals and society. The President urged all stakeholders to wholeheartedly contribute to the education and skill development of children and youth in tribal communities. She expressed her satisfaction that nearly 500 Eklavya Model Residential Schools have been established across the country.

She stated that all citizens are moving forward with the goal of building a developed India by 2047. The holistic development of tribal communities is an integral part of this objective, contributing to the nation’s progress through inclusive development. She expressed hope that the suggestions, conclusions, and roadmap emerging from this conference would facilitate the implementation of tribal development plans at the grassroots level.
