Prayagraj, June 17: The District Magistrate of Prayagraj, Manish Kumar Verma, provided comprehensive details regarding the preparations for Muharram. In a conversation with reporters on Wednesday, he stated that planning for the festival has been ongoing for a considerable time. A detailed framework was established well in advance to ensure effective implementation of these preparations. Verma emphasized that no negligence would be tolerated during this critical period.
He noted that the Muharram festival has already commenced. Officials are personally visiting all security points to assess the situation, aiming to prevent any untoward incidents. A significant deployment of security personnel will be stationed at all sensitive locations to ensure that no shortcomings occur.
District Magistrate Manish Kumar Verma also highlighted the importance of cleanliness. Zonal officers have been appointed to oversee sanitation efforts, ensuring that no litter remains in public areas. Coordination with all relevant departments will be prioritized to facilitate a smooth process, addressing any issues that may arise promptly.
Furthermore, he advised that no Tazias should exceed the designated height, as taller structures have previously collided with high-tension wires in other districts, complicating the situation. Consequently, all involved have been instructed to adhere to the specified height limits for Tazias.
