New Delhi, May 24: BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal launched a strong critique against opposition parties on Sunday, addressing various issues. He expressed his support for the West Bengal government’s decision to reduce the Bakrid holiday by one day.
In an interview, Khandelwal stated, “The principle of religious harmony is a hallmark of our India, but it has its limits. The West Bengal government has taken a commendable step by respecting those limits.”
He also targeted the Punjab government regarding a clash among inmates at Kapurthala Central Jail. Khandelwal remarked, “Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann seems more focused on leisure and travel. This is why the people of Punjab are suffering. He should prioritize improving law and order.”
Commenting on the seat-sharing arrangement between the Samajwadi Party and Congress, Khandelwal described the ‘India’ bloc as fundamentally hollow. He noted, “Just yesterday, Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav were embracing each other, but now their true colors are emerging. This is not a genuine alliance but an opportunistic coalition. The public has understood this.”
Khandelwal welcomed the central government’s decision to cancel the lease of the Delhi Gymkhana Club. He stated, “This decision has been made at the right time. Several clubs from the British era still exist in Delhi, which can sometimes pose a threat to national security. It is no longer appropriate for these places to be accessible only to the elite.”
He also supported the FIR filed against UP Congress President Ajay Rai for his alleged remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Khandelwal emphasized that disrespect towards the nation and the Prime Minister will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
He concluded by asserting that the BJP believes in politics of development and good governance, while the opposition remains entangled in political conspiracies.
