Political Controversy Erupts Over Bharat Tiwaris Death in Bihar

Patna, June 23: The political controversy surrounding Bharat Tiwari’s death has intensified in Bihar. The Congress party has raised questions regarding the state government’s and police’s actions, demanding an impartial investigation. Congress MP Akhilesh Prasad Singh alleged on Tuesday that Tiwari did not die in an encounter but was murdered.

Speaking to reporters in Patna, Singh rejected the notion that Tiwari’s death was an encounter. He claimed that a conspiracy was involved and that the roles of police officials should be investigated.

“I categorically deny that Bharat Tiwari was killed in an encounter; he was murdered. The local DSP orchestrated the entire conspiracy and was responsible for the boy’s death,” Singh stated.

He mentioned that he visited Tiwari’s village and met with the victim’s family. Singh urged the government to ensure that the investigation is conducted by a sitting judge of the Patna High Court, rather than a retired judge, to guarantee an unbiased inquiry free from external pressures.

Additionally, Singh called for financial assistance for the victim’s family. He insisted that the government should immediately announce a compensation of one crore rupees to provide relief to them.

Questioning the police’s actions, he emphasized that no individual is above the law. He asserted that even high-ranking officials or political figures do not have the right to take someone’s life.

In his statement, Singh also referenced Ajmal Kasab, the perpetrator of the Mumbai attacks, highlighting that he was punished through legal processes despite his crimes. He reiterated that actions against any accused should remain within the bounds of law in a democratic system.

It is noteworthy that political rhetoric regarding Bharat Tiwari’s encounter continues in Bihar. The opposition is persistently demanding an independent investigation, while the police’s actions and the actual facts surrounding the incident are still under scrutiny.
