PM Modi Welcomes President Macron Ahead of AI Impact Summit in India

Mumbai, February 17: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended a warm welcome to French President Emmanuel Macron, who has arrived in India to participate in the AI Impact Summit. PM Modi expressed eagerness to elevate India-France relations to new heights.

On social media platform X, PM Modi stated, “Welcome to India! We look forward to your visit and to taking our mutual relations to new heights. I am confident that our discussions will strengthen cooperation across various sectors and contribute to progress worldwide. See you in Mumbai and later in Delhi, my dear friend.”

Meanwhile, President Macron has already landed in Mumbai, where he will attend the India-AI Impact Summit on February 19. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis welcomed him at the airport, alongside Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat.

The Ministry of External Affairs also welcomed Macron, stating, “Towards a strong India-France strategic partnership! A warm welcome to President Emmanuel Macron. The Governors of Maharashtra and Gujarat warmly received him at Mumbai Airport. During this visit, PM Modi will hold a bilateral meeting with President Macron. Both leaders will launch the India-France Year of Innovation 2026, further accelerating the vibrant India-France strategic partnership.”

During his visit, Macron will participate in the AI Impact Summit in New Delhi on February 19. A meeting between PM Modi and President Macron is scheduled for Tuesday in Mumbai, where they will review the progress made under the India-France strategic partnership and exchange views on regional and global issues. Following this, they will meet again in the national capital on February 19.

This evening, around 5:15 PM, Macron and PM Modi will jointly inaugurate the India-France Year of Innovation 2026. The event will also see the presence of entrepreneurs, startup founders, researchers, and innovators from both countries.
