LG Manoj Sinha Unveils Mahsoos

Srinagar, March 15: Jammu and Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, urged citizens to actively participate in social progress and reflect on their contributions. He emphasized that everyone should ask themselves what they are doing for their community and what legacy they wish to leave for future generations.

Sinha made these remarks during the launch of the book ‘Mahsoos – Stories of Social Transformation’ at the DIPR Auditorium in Srinagar. The book showcases inspiring stories of social work and transformation carried out by volunteers from Seva Bharti Jammu and Kashmir and the Ekal Vidyalaya Foundation of India.

The Lieutenant Governor stated that the book serves as a source of inspiration for the public. He expressed hope that the dedication of Seva Bharti, the commitment of Ekal Vidyalaya volunteers, and the positive changes in society would reach beyond Jammu and Kashmir, inspiring more people across the nation to engage in service.

He highlighted the immense potential for a bright future in Jammu and Kashmir, citing its rich natural resources, energetic youth, and citizens motivated by a spirit of service. Sinha asserted that a prosperous future is built not by chance but through determination and collective effort. He noted that a thriving Jammu and Kashmir will be recognized not just by economic growth but by the improved quality of life for every citizen.

On this occasion, the Lieutenant Governor emphasized five resolutions aimed at making Jammu and Kashmir an ideal and leading Union Territory. These include social harmony, family awareness, environmental protection, civic duty, and self-reliance.

He called for all sections of society to unite with patience and courage for social harmony, reducing distances between generations, cultures, and ideas through mutual respect. Families, he said, must reinforce their core values to pave the way for a better future for the younger generation.

Sinha stressed the importance of environmental protection, stating that Jammu and Kashmir is a precious gift of nature. The region’s rivers, mountains, and forests remind us of the need to safeguard this heritage. Sustainable development is the right direction for the future.

Regarding civic duty, he noted that a strong democracy relies on informed, active, and responsible citizens. For self-reliance, he encouraged people to develop their skills and become economically empowered.

The Lieutenant Governor concluded that these five resolutions are not mere ideas but a collective responsibility for the social and economic development of Jammu and Kashmir.

The event was attended by several officials and volunteers, including Professor Rakesh Kumar Jha, President of Seva Bharti Jammu and Kashmir, Suman Dheer, President of Ekal Vidyalaya Foundation, Dr. Farooq Dar, Pradeep Kapoor, Ajay Taku, and Fayaz Ahmad Mir. Senior officials such as DIG CKR Rajiv Pandey and Deputy Commissioner of Srinagar Akshay Labroo were also present, along with prominent citizens from various sectors.
