New Delhi, March 29: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called upon citizens to participate in the ‘Gyaan Bharatam Survey’ during his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program. He emphasized that this initiative is an opportunity to showcase the spirit of public participation and India’s rich culture and heritage.
In his address, PM Modi stated, “The strength of India lies in its millions of people. Today, I want to talk about an effort that reflects the spirit of public participation. This initiative, ‘Gyaan Bharatam’, is connected to our great culture and rich heritage. Its goal is to gather information about manuscripts available across the country. A way to join this survey is through the ‘Gyaan Bharatam’ app.”
Requesting citizens, PM Modi said, “If you have any manuscripts or information about them, please share their photos on the ‘Gyaan Bharatam’ app.” He noted that every entry is being verified before recording the information. He expressed happiness that thousands of manuscripts have already been shared by people.
During the address, PM Modi highlighted examples from Arunachal Pradesh’s Namsai, where Chao Nantisindh Lokang shared manuscripts in the Tai script, and from Amritsar, where Amit Singh Rana shared manuscripts in the Gurmukhi script, linked to our great Sikh tradition and Punjabi language. Some institutions have also provided manuscripts written on palm leaves.
He also mentioned the Abhay Jain Library in Rajasthan, which shared very old manuscripts written on copper plates. Referring to the Hemis Monastery in Ladakh, PM Modi noted that they have provided information about invaluable manuscripts in Tibetan.
He concluded, “I have only given a few examples here. This survey will continue until mid-June.” PM Modi urged everyone to bring forth and share aspects related to their culture.
