Jaisalmer, September (Udaipur Kiran News) — Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has set up a new mobile tower for the Border Security Force (BSF) in Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer district. The tower, which will provide 4G connectivity using indigenous technology, is scheduled to be inaugurated virtually by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 27, 2025.

Boosting Connectivity for BSF and Border Residents
According to M. L. Garg, IG, BSF Frontier (Rajasthan), the new mobile tower will significantly improve connectivity for BSF personnel in remote areas. Importantly, it will also extend mobile network services to border residents, many of whom have been deprived of reliable coverage for years.
Better connectivity will not only assist BSF in handling critical situations but will also allow personnel to stay in touch with their families.
Digital Empowerment for the Region
The tower is expected to boost the local digital economy, enabling:
-
Online education access
-
Digital payments
-
Government scheme awareness
-
Improved communication services
This move is aligned with BSNL’s larger mission to enhance connectivity in rural and border areas, offering affordable tariffs compared to private operators.
BSNL’s 4G and 5G Push
BSNL is preparing for its PAN-India 4G rollout on September 27, 2025, and has already started testing its indigenous 5G technology. With rising private operator tariffs, BSNL has reported a steady growth in its customer base over the past year.
