Nagercoil, April 8: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will conduct a grand road show in Nagercoil, Tamil Nadu, on April 15. This event is organized to support the candidates of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) ahead of the upcoming Tamil Nadu assembly elections.
Nainar Nagendran announced the details of the event on Wednesday. The road show will commence from the Vepamoodu Junction and proceed to the MGR statue at Vadasseri, passing through key areas of the city.
The exact time of the Prime Minister’s arrival has not yet been confirmed, but party leaders have begun extensive preparations across the district. According to the BJP, workers and leaders from NDA’s allied parties will participate in large numbers from all six assembly constituencies in Kanyakumari district. This is anticipated to be one of the largest political events of the election season.
Nagendran expressed confidence in the alliance’s victory, claiming that the NDA could win over 180 seats in the upcoming elections. He noted a significant shift in public sentiment towards the alliance, particularly in southern Tamil Nadu.
He criticized the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government, raising concerns about the NEET exam and accusing the party of failing to fulfill its promise to abolish it.
In response to the electoral activities of actor-turned-politician Vijay, he stated that they would not significantly impact the election results, as the political atmosphere has already shifted in favor of the NDA.
He also criticized the state government for delays in the metro rail project, attributing it to a lack of a detailed project report (DPR) that has hindered progress.
Addressing ongoing speculation regarding seat distribution within the party, he dismissed these rumors, stating that K. Annamalai is actively campaigning in various states.
Regarding the recent verdict in the Sathankulam custodial death case, he emphasized that it should not be viewed politically and that the law should be allowed to take its course.
