
New Delhi, May 30: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the 134th episode of his monthly radio program ‘Mann Ki Baat’ on Sunday. The broadcast will take place at 11 AM across All India Radio (Akashvani) and the government’s official digital channels.
The last episode aired on April 27, where the Prime Minister highlighted a unique digital database from the National Archives of India. This database, accessible through a special ‘Archive Portal,’ provides access to over 200 million invaluable documents related to India’s history.
The ‘Archive Portal’ is an initiative by the National Archives of India aimed at making its vast repository of archival records easily available to the public with just a click. The platform features reference materials related to approximately 100 million files preserved by the institution.
In his previous episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat,’ the Prime Minister emphasized the growing role of technology in connecting people with their past. He noted that in today’s rapidly changing world, technology has become a significant part of our lives. We are witnessing the wonders of technology linking our past with the present. A recent advancement in this direction has delighted those in education and history.
Just a few days ago, the National Archives of India shared a unique database on a special portal, digitizing over 200 million invaluable documents for public access. Some of these documents are particularly fascinating, such as the 7th-century ‘Gilgit Manuscripts’ written on birch bark. There is also an intriguing 8th-century text, ‘Shri Bhuvalaya,’ which is based on numbers and presented in a grid format.
The Prime Minister also spoke about Sanjana Philo Chacko, a 12th-grade student from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, who won a silver medal at the European Girls’ Mathematical Olympiad 2026 held in Bordeaux, France, bringing pride to the nation.
Sanjana, known for her consistent excellence in mathematics, was part of a four-member Indian team selected through a rigorous multi-stage national selection process.
In this episode, PM Modi also highlighted the traditional delicacy ‘Kalari Cheese’ from Udhampur, Jammu and Kashmir. He described the cheese as part of India’s cultural heritage and praised its global recognition and success at a recent international cheese competition in Brazil.
Following the special mention of Kalari Cheese, often referred to as the “mozzarella of Kashmir,” there has been a significant surge in its sales.
