PM-Kisan Scheme Highlights Modi Governments Commitment to Farmers, Says BJP Kisan Morcha

New Delhi, June 21: Rajkumar Chahar, the National President of the BJP Kisan Morcha and Member of Parliament, expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the latest installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme, announced on Saturday in the Hooghly district of West Bengal.

Chahar thanked the Prime Minister on behalf of the BJP Kisan Morcha and the farming community for empowering farmers through direct financial assistance and agriculture-focused reforms.

Under the latest installment of the PM-Kisan scheme, over 9.44 crore eligible farmers across the country received more than ₹18,880 crore through direct benefit transfers (DBT) to their bank accounts.

He emphasized that the Prime Minister has remained steadfast in his commitment to making farmers self-reliant, capable, and economically strong. Over the past 12 years, government policies have focused on enhancing agricultural productivity, reducing input costs, and improving farmers’ access to credit and markets. The agricultural budget has significantly increased under the Modi government, rising from approximately ₹27,000 crore during the UPA era to around ₹1.25 lakh crore.

Chahar also highlighted the distribution of soil health cards to over 22 crore farmers, which has aided them in making informed decisions regarding crop nutrition and fertilizer usage.

He pointed out the expansion of the Kisan Credit Card network and the promotion of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), noting that more than 8,000 FPOs have been established nationwide. These organizations have empowered farmers to market their produce collectively, enhancing their bargaining power and securing better prices.

The BJP leader credited initiatives like nano urea and neem-coated urea for reducing dependence on traditional fertilizers and lowering input costs for farmers.

Chahar criticized the opposition, alleging that while the Modi government has consistently taken steps for farmers’ welfare, opposition parties have attempted to mislead the farming community for political gain.

He stated that the Prime Minister has fulfilled promises made to farmers through welfare and reformative measures, with the benefits now reaching millions of farming families across the country via direct cash transfers and specific agricultural programs.
