Piyush Goyal Engages with Over 50 Business Leaders to Boost India-U.S. Trade and Investment

New Delhi, May 29: Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal met with more than 50 prominent business and industry leaders during a roundtable organized by the Indian Consulate General in New York. The discussions focused on strengthening trade, investment, innovation, and supply chains between India and the United States.

In a post on the social media platform X, Goyal stated, “I engaged with over 50 key business and industry leaders at the roundtable meeting organized by the Indian Consulate in New York in collaboration with the U.S.-India Strategic Partnership Forum.”

He further emphasized the robust growth of India under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, highlighting the reform-driven business environment and the increasing opportunities for global investors.

The meeting explored ways to deepen the trade, investment, innovation, and supply chain partnership between India and the U.S. to achieve shared prosperity.

Earlier, Goyal invited Canadian businesses to invest in India during his visit to Canada. Speaking at an event attended by Canada’s International Trade Minister, Mary Ng, he discussed India’s ongoing efforts to create a business-friendly and investor-friendly environment. He encouraged Canadian business and industry leaders to actively participate in India’s growth story.

Goyal stressed how the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) will serve as a crucial catalyst for enhancing trade and investment relations while opening new avenues for collaboration across various sectors.

He expressed confidence that the next chapter of the India-Canada economic partnership will progress with trust, ultimately enhancing the prosperity of both nations.
