Amit Shah Declares End of Naxalism in India Under BJP Rule

Ahmedabad, May 29: Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced on Thursday that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, Naxalism has been eradicated from India. He stated that the significant challenge posed by Naxalism, which persisted for five decades, was completely eliminated by March 31, 2026.

Speaking at the inauguration of new hostel buildings at Mata Umiya Dham in Ahmedabad, Shah highlighted the historic changes made to the country’s internal security over the past decade under the BJP government. He emphasized that the Modi administration has implemented “revolutionary changes” in both the economic and national security sectors.

Shah remarked, “While economic transformation has taken place, we have also witnessed unprecedented changes in national security.” He pointed out that decisive actions have been taken against major issues like terrorism and Naxalism. “Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, both terrorism and Naxalism have been eliminated within just ten years,” he added.

The Home Minister also addressed issues related to West Bengal and illegal immigration. He mentioned that the Ministry of Home Affairs has established a ‘Demographic Change Commission’ to study unusual population changes, their causes, and the legal aspects related to immigration-induced demographic shifts.

This event was organized to inaugurate the J.S. Patel Hostel and Tapasvi Kumar Arvindbhai Patel Girls’ Hostel at Mata Umiya Dham in Ahmedabad. According to the organizers, the construction of both 13-story hostel buildings cost over ₹170 crores and will accommodate around 1,600 students studying in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar.

The program was attended by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel, Rajkot MP Purushottam Rupala, state government ministers, and officials from the Umiya Mata Institute.

Amit Shah congratulated the organizers and donors associated with the project and expressed hope that the remaining initiatives of the institute would be completed soon.
