Sambhajinagar, October 10 (Daily Kiran) : The arrest of Abhijit Deepke, founder of the Cockroach People’s Party, at Delhi Airport has ignited strong reactions from his parents. Bhagwan Deepke, his father, raised serious concerns about the government’s actions, labeling this incident as unprecedented in India’s history. He emphasized that a student advocating for democracy was apprehended inside an airplane.
Bhagwan Deepke pointed out that while notorious criminals and businessmen fleeing with India’s wealth have escaped scrutiny, a common student fighting for democratic values was detained. He expressed skepticism about the current state of democracy in India, suggesting that it is under threat. He accused the government of striving towards a “One Nation, One Party” agenda, aiming to eliminate opposition parties.
When asked about the possibility of Abhijit’s arrest, Bhagwan revealed that his son had forewarned him before leaving home, indicating he might be taken into custody.
Reflecting on the current political climate, he drew parallels between the present situation and the Emergency period during Indira Gandhi’s rule. He stated that he would decide on future actions based on how his son was treated.
Responding to inquiries about Gyanesh Kumar, Bhagwan alleged that there were plans in motion for targeted actions against certain individuals. He referenced the suspension of parliament members and the laws concerning presidential powers, claiming these actions were part of a premeditated strategy.
Abhijit’s mother, Anita Deepke, also expressed her discontent with the government, stating that it had treated her son unjustly. She lamented the arrest of youth dedicated to the country while offenders go unpunished.
Anita shared her apprehensions about her son’s potential arrest, recalling how she warned him before he left home. Despite her fears, Abhijit reassured her that everything would be fine. Emotionally, she recounted parting with him in tears, only to be comforted by his belief that everything would turn out for the best.
Expressing her disappointment with the government’s approach, she reiterated that the current circumstances are troubling. She firmly believes that her son’s treatment was wrong and has caused her immense distress.
