
Beijing, October 10 (Daily Kiran) : China officially formed its sports delegation for the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Para Games during a ceremony in Beijing on October 10. This delegation marks the largest representation from China for an overseas Asian Para Games to date.
The team consists of 500 members, including 312 athletes from 13 different ethnic groups. The average age of the athletes is approximately 28.8 years, with the oldest participant being 50 and the youngest just 16. All athletes are amateurs, hailing from diverse backgrounds such as laborers, students, office workers, and freelancers.
The Aichi-Nagoya Asian Para Games will feature 18 sports, including athletics, swimming, table tennis, wheelchair fencing, blind football, wheelchair basketball, and sitting volleyball, with over 500 events scheduled. More than 3,000 athletes from 45 countries and regions are expected to compete. The Chinese delegation will participate in 17 sports across 335 events.
The fifth Asian Para Games will take place from October 18 to 24 in Nagoya, Japan. This event marks China’s fifth participation in the Asian Para Games.
