Hingoli, October 10 (Daily Kiran) : In a significant development from Hingoli, Maharashtra, Abhijit Dipke, founder of the Cockroach People’s Party (CJP), has lost his grandmother. She passed away on Saturday due to age-related health issues.
Dipke’s grandmother resided in Santuk Pimpari, the family’s ancestral village in Hingoli district. She had been unwell for some time, and her condition worsened in recent days. Her death marks a poignant moment for the family, as she was the mother of Abhijit Dipke’s father, Bhagwanrao Dipke.
At the time of this sad news, Abhijit Dipke was in Delhi. He had traveled there from Mumbai earlier that morning to lead a protest demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. However, upon arriving at Delhi Airport, he was detained by police.
His parents, Anita and Bhagwan Dipke, are currently in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Following the news of their matriarch’s passing, they quickly made plans to head to Hingoli.
Attention now turns to whether the Delhi police will allow Abhijit Dipke to travel to Sambhajinagar or Hingoli following his grandmother’s death. Earlier that Saturday, ahead of the CJP’s protest, police took significant action, detaining Dipke, co-convener Saurav Das, and spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka directly from their flight as it landed at IGI Airport.
During his detention, Abhijit Dipke reportedly told the police, “I came here to be arrested. Go ahead and arrest me.”
