Outrage Over Injured Patient Treated Under Mobile Flashlight in Hamirpur Hospital

Hamirpur, May 31: A video from a government hospital in Hamirpur, Uttar Pradesh, has gone viral on social media, raising serious concerns about the district’s healthcare services. The footage shows an injured man receiving stitches under the light of a mobile phone flashlight at the Community Health Center (CHC) in Sumerpur.

Reports indicate that a woman injured in a fight was brought to the Sumerpur CHC for treatment. It was revealed that there was no electricity in the hospital at the time, forcing medical staff to rely on mobile phone lights.

In the video, a sanitation worker, identified as Pappu, appears to be stitching the injured man. Some police personnel were also present during the incident.

Following the video’s release, questions have been raised regarding the quality of healthcare in the district. Critics have labeled this as negligence in patient care and a lack of basic facilities in hospitals. The health department’s operational protocols are also under scrutiny. However, there has been no official statement from the health department regarding the incident as of yet.

The video continues to circulate widely on social media, with many calling for an investigation and action against those responsible. Reports suggest that orders have been issued to investigate the matter.

Additionally, amid severe heat, various regions in Uttar Pradesh have reported issues with electricity supply. Opposition leaders have criticized Energy Minister A.K. Singh, but the minister has asserted that improvements in electricity supply have been made compared to previous years, and efforts are underway to address the shortcomings.
