Double-Decker Bus Collides with Truck on Agra-Lucknow Expressway, Over 25 Injured

Firozabad, June 26: A serious accident occurred on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway in Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh, when a double-decker bus collided with a truck, injuring over 25 passengers. All injured individuals have been admitted to the hospital, with five in critical condition.

Reports indicate that the accident took place in the Nagla Khangar area of Firozabad. The bus, traveling from Gorakhpur to Chandigarh, struck the truck ahead of it. The impact was so severe that the front of the bus was completely destroyed.

At the time of the incident, more than 60 passengers were on board the bus, with approximately 25 sustaining injuries. Police arrived at the scene promptly after receiving reports of the crash. All injured passengers were transported to a hospital in Shikohabad. The five critically injured individuals were referred to a medical college after receiving initial treatment.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the bus driver may have dozed off, leading to the collision. One injured passenger recounted that they were all asleep and were unaware of the crash until it happened.

A hospital staff member confirmed that 25 individuals were admitted, with several others referred to hospitals in Saifai and Agra for further treatment.

Dr. Anurag Kant Verma stated that they received information about the bus-truck collision. Among the injured brought to the hospital, five were in serious condition and were subsequently referred to another facility. Currently, 15 patients are receiving treatment, while some with minor injuries have been discharged after care.
