Ambedkar Nagar, August 12: Om Prakash Rajbhar, a minister in the Uttar Pradesh government, has launched a strong attack on opposition parties regarding the Jharkhand student movement, disruptions in Parliament, and the paper leak issue. In a recent conversation, he accused the opposition of politicizing student concerns and claimed their stance varies across different states.
Rajbhar pointed out that Jharkhand does not have a BJP government; instead, it is led by a coalition of Congress and the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha. He questioned why Rahul Gandhi is not visiting the state. If the opposition truly stands with students, they should support their demands in Jharkhand. He also referenced the paper leak incidents in Punjab, urging the opposition to visit and stand with the students there.
Additionally, he criticized opposition leaders for their involvement in the student protests at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. He noted that while many opposition leaders showed up to support the students, some unruly elements also appeared, escalating the situation. Rajbhar emphasized that students typically do not engage in stone-pelting, vandalism, or clashes with police, yet such incidents occurred during the protests. He questioned the commitment of opposition leaders, suggesting that if they genuinely supported the students, they should have remained with them throughout the demonstrations.
Rajbhar asserted that if the opposition is genuinely concerned about student issues, they should address the problems faced by students in both Jharkhand and Punjab. He accused the opposition of prioritizing the discrediting of the NDA government over resolving student issues.
Regarding the protests in Parliament, Rajbhar targeted the Samajwadi Party and other opposition parties. He stated that if there were detailed discussions in the House about paper leaks and recruitment exam issues, it would raise questions about alleged incidents during previous administrations. Rajbhar made serious allegations against the previous SP government in Uttar Pradesh, highlighting complaints of cheating and paper leaks during exams, as well as irregularities in job recruitments. He noted that law and order were also significant concerns during that time, leading to riots and curfews.
He concluded that if discussions on these issues take place in the House, it would bring up questions related to the opposition’s past governance, which is why they are trying to avoid such discussions.
