Bhubaneswar, May 14: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Chara Majhi announced on Thursday that the celebrations for the two-year anniversary of the BJP-led state government will be conducted in a modest manner due to the ongoing conflict in West Asia.
A preparatory meeting regarding the anniversary celebrations was held at the Lok Seva Bhawan, chaired by Chief Minister Majhi. During this meeting, he emphasized that the entire nation is facing a challenging period because of the situation in West Asia, and therefore, the celebrations will be subdued and restrained.
According to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), Majhi stressed that instead of organizing large-scale events, the focus should be on highlighting the achievements of the state government over the past two years.
It was also decided that the government’s accomplishments will be promoted through print, electronic, and social media platforms, along with the publication of brochures.
Participants at the meeting underscored the need to demonstrate how various welfare schemes implemented by the Odisha government have benefited the general public.
The second anniversary of the Odisha government will be celebrated on June 12. Various programs will be organized at the state and district levels from June 12 to June 21.
The Chief Minister stated that programs will be held under seven themes based on the achievements of different departments: ‘Shakti Odisha’, ‘Samruddha Krishi Odisha’, ‘Sustha Odisha’, ‘Nirman Odisha’, ‘Utkarsh Odisha’, ‘Janashakti Odisha’, and ‘Kaushal Odisha’. Additionally, the government’s goals and vision for the period from 2026 to 2036 will also be included in these programs.
Majhi further mentioned that each department’s minister will hold press conferences to showcase their respective departments’ achievements over the past two years, along with publishing pamphlets and brochures detailing departmental successes.
Through these initiatives, the Chief Minister believes the state government will effectively communicate its vision for the prosperity of the state and the welfare of its citizens.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, Deputy Chief Minister Prabhati Parida, Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari, and Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, among others.
