Azamgarh, June 14: During a recent event in Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Minister O.P. Rajbhar launched a sharp critique against the Samajwadi Party (SP), Congress, and their allied parties. He targeted the opposition regarding law and order, women’s safety, and the upcoming 2027 assembly elections, asserting that the public has not forgotten the era of crime and fear.
Rajbhar pointed out that in the 2017 assembly elections, Congress and SP had collaborated but only managed to secure 47 seats. He sarcastically remarked that if the two parties manage to retain those same 47 seats in 2027, it would be a significant achievement for them.
He emphasized that the rule of law is firmly established in the state and that strict actions are being taken against criminals. Rajbhar warned that anyone who breaks the law will face severe legal repercussions, and the government will not show leniency towards crime. He mentioned the ‘Bulldozer Model,’ asserting that criminals will receive punishment for their actions.
On the other hand, SP National President Akhilesh Yadav accused the BJP of misusing the electoral process and democratic institutions. He claimed that if Uttar Pradesh experiences ‘vote theft’ or electoral dishonesty similar to West Bengal and Bihar, it could be the last election for the country. Yadav alleged that there is an ongoing attempt to weaken democratic institutions.
The SP leader also raised questions regarding women’s reservation and delimitation. He accused the government of wanting to implement delimitation under the guise of women’s reservation, making it more challenging for opposition parties and leaders to win elections.
Amidst these accusations and counterattacks, Uttar Pradesh’s political landscape is heating up as the 2027 assembly elections approach. While the opposition raises concerns about electoral transparency, the BJP and its allies are focusing on development, good governance, and law and order as their main issues.
