NSUI Protests Over NEET Paper Leak, Calls for NTA Ban and Ministers Resignation

New Delhi, May 18: In the capital city of New Delhi, the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) staged a protest regarding the recent NEET paper leak. The organization is demanding a ban on the National Testing Agency (NTA) and the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Protesters expressed their concerns, stating that incidents of paper leaks occur every year, impacting millions of students. They highlighted that students dedicate an entire year to preparation, only to discover that the exam paper has been leaked, leading some to take drastic measures, including suicide. Their demands are clear: ban the NTA and demand the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan.

One protester emphasized the urgency of their demands, citing repeated paper leak incidents in 2021, 2024, and now 2026. They questioned how a beautician could facilitate such a significant breach in the system. The protesters called for the arrest of the main culprits behind the leaks, stating that four students have already taken their lives due to this issue. They believe that, on moral grounds, Dharmendra Pradhan should resign, and the Prime Minister should dismiss him from the Cabinet.

Another participant voiced frustration, asking, “Who will answer for the sleepless nights of hard work and the shattered dreams?” They lamented that if exam papers continue to be sold in markets, it undermines the integrity of honest studying. They criticized Dharmendra Pradhan for failing to reflect on the situation.

In Uttar Pradesh’s Basti, NSUI activists protested in a unique manner by distributing ‘jhalmuri’ (a type of snack). One activist pointed out that over the past decade, there have been 89 instances of NEET paper leaks, leading to numerous student suicides.

Samajwadi Party leader Ashutosh Verma remarked that the youth of this country are questioning who will take responsibility for ruining students’ futures in one fell swoop.
