Northeast Frontier Railway Achieves Historic Revenue Milestone in Ticket Checking

Guwahati, June 6: The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has marked a historic achievement in ticket checking revenue, recording over ₹2.08 crore during May 2026. This information was shared by officials on Saturday.

According to Kapinjol Kishore Sharma, the Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of NFR, this is the highest monthly revenue ever earned through ticket checking by any section of the Northeast Frontier Railway.

“This remarkable achievement reflects the extraordinary dedication, professional efficiency, and continuous efforts of the ticket checking staff. They have played a crucial role in ensuring compliance with ticket regulations, preventing ticketless travel, and safeguarding the railway’s revenue,” he stated.

This accomplishment is seen as a stellar example of the effective revenue protection initiatives and excellent operational management adopted by NFR.

The record revenue was made possible due to ongoing ticket checking campaigns, strict monitoring, effective actions, and improved teamwork among the ticket checking staff at New Jalpaiguri (NJP) in North Bengal.

According to CPRO Sharma, the section recorded an average daily revenue of over ₹6.54 lakh during May. Notably, on May 9, 2026, the highest single-day revenue of over ₹9.65 lakh was achieved, marking the peak daily revenue for this period.

“This outstanding achievement is thanks to the dedicated staff of the NJP/TTE lobby, showcasing the unwavering commitment, efficiency, and honest efforts of the entire team,” he added.

The success was further bolstered by several exemplary individual performances from the ticket checking staff, contributing significantly to setting a new record for revenue from ticket checking in NFR.

Chetan Kumar Srivastava, the General Manager of Northeast Frontier Railway, along with other senior officials, congratulated the entire ticket checking team at New Jalpaiguri for this remarkable accomplishment.

They emphasized that this success reflects NFR’s commitment to revenue protection initiatives, transparency, accountability, and raising awareness about proper ticketing.

Officials believe that this achievement by the NJP ticket checking section will serve as an inspiration for other sections and employees of the railway, encouraging them to strive for greater excellence in service and performance.

The Northeast Frontier Railway, headquartered in Maligaon near Guwahati, operates rail services not only in the northeastern states but also in seven districts of West Bengal and five districts of North Bihar.
