Noida International Airport Set to Enhance Connectivity

Noida, March 28: Noida International Airport is on track to become the largest international airport in the country. It is rapidly advancing towards establishing a superior connectivity network. This airport will be linked through roads, rail, metro, and high-speed rail, enhancing both national and international access. As a result, residents of North India will prefer Noida’s Jewar Airport over traveling to Delhi for international flights.

The airport is directly connected to the Yamuna Expressway, featuring a dedicated interchange. Additionally, the connection to the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway (Ballabgarh Link) ensures swift access from South Haryana and Western India. Future connectivity will be strengthened through the Ganga Expressway and the Eastern Peripheral Expressway.

An interchange for the Eastern Peripheral Expressway is under construction, which will provide direct routes from Ghaziabad, Meerut, Palwal, and Sonipat. Meanwhile, the North and East Access Roads, designed for industrial and air cargo traffic, are nearing completion. A 60-meter-wide service road in Sector-28 will connect to the Yamuna Expressway, alleviating local traffic congestion.

Significant progress is also being made in rail and rapid transit connectivity. The Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) connecting Delhi to Jewar Airport has been submitted to the central government. Plans are also underway for connectivity via the Chola-Rundhi railway line. The future Delhi-Varanasi high-speed rail line will include a station at the Jewar terminal, further enhancing the airport’s significance.

To strengthen public transport, an agreement has been made with the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC). This will initiate interstate bus services from Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Delhi, and Rajasthan. Noida, Greater Noida, and the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) will jointly operate 500 electric buses, providing eco-friendly last-mile connectivity to the airport.

Modern cab services are also being arranged for passenger convenience. A branded cab service operated by Mahindra Logistics will be launched, offering safety, punctuality, and digital payment options. Additionally, companies like Uber, Rapido, Ola, and MakeMyTrip will provide on-demand cab services.

Passengers will have the option to rent vehicles, either self-drive or with a driver, making travel even more convenient. With these initiatives, Jewar Airport is rapidly progressing towards becoming a major aviation hub, not just for North India but for the entire country, offering integrated connectivity options.

The airport’s connections via road, rail, metro, and high-speed rail will reduce reliance on Delhi for international flights. Residents of North India and surrounding states will benefit from this new facility at Jewar Airport, easing the pressure on Delhi Airport, which previously served as the primary hub for international travel.
