Noida Accelerates Elevated Road Construction for Improved Connectivity

Noida, May 5: The construction of a new elevated road in Noida, aimed at easing traffic and enhancing connectivity, is progressing rapidly. Currently, soil testing and topographic surveys are underway for the elevated road, which will extend from near the Mahamaya Flyover to Sector 94.

The responsibility for preparing the Detailed Project Report (DPR) has been assigned to IIT Roorkee. According to the authority’s General Manager, S.P. Singh, soil testing is being conducted to determine the bearing capacity of the ground. This information will play a crucial role in designing and structuring the elevated road.

Singh mentioned that IIT Roorkee is expected to complete the DPR within a week and submit it to the authority. Additionally, the topographic survey involves a comprehensive geographical study of the area, mapping factors such as land elevation, slope, contour lines, vegetation, water sources, and existing structures like buildings and roads.

This survey will aid in making future plans accurate and practical. The approximately 1.5-kilometer-long elevated road is projected to cost around 150 crore rupees. It will function as a link elevated road, connecting the Chilla Elevated Road near the Mahamaya Flyover to the Sector 94 area.

To further enhance connectivity, a cloverleaf interchange is also proposed, allowing for uninterrupted vehicle movement. Furthermore, there are plans to connect this road to the proposed elevated push-ta road towards Sector 94. However, obtaining a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the irrigation department is essential for this connection. If the NOC is granted, the elevated road could be linked to the push-ta road, facilitating easier access for commuters.

Once completed, this project is expected to reduce traffic pressure in Noida and surrounding areas, providing residents with better and faster commuting options.
