Indian Foreign Minister Visits Ghana, Côte dIvoire, and Ethiopia to Strengthen Bilateral Ties

New Delhi, October 6 (Daily Kiran) : Indian Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar is on an official visit to Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire, and Ethiopia from October 6 to 10. During this trip, he will engage in bilateral meetings with his counterparts in all three nations. The discussions will focus on trade, development, cooperation, and various global issues.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, Dr. Jaishankar will meet with top leaders in each country, aiming to enhance mutual friendship and cooperation. The meetings will cover a range of topics, including trade and economic relations, development cooperation, capacity building, and people-to-people connections. Additionally, they will address issues of mutual interest at both regional and global levels.

In Addis Ababa, the Foreign Minister will also chair a conference for heads of Indian missions in the region. This visit underscores India’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with Africa and enhancing solidarity with countries in the Global South.

Earlier this week, Dr. Jaishankar met with Swiss President Guy Parmelin in New Delhi, expressing enthusiasm for advancing bilateral relations between India and Switzerland. He shared insights about their meeting on social media, highlighting the potential for increased collaboration across various sectors as a result of discussions between Prime Minister Modi and President Parmelin.
